Catherine Lotz, RVN

Diploma of Veterinary Nursing - University of Pretoria
Certificate of Veterinary Nursing in Emergency and Critical Care CERT VNECC
Catherine qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in South Africa in 2005 and after a year of working in a charity organisation, moved to London to work and travel. After 8 years of living and working in and around London, she moved to Sydney in October 2015 with her husband and adopted cat called Gary.
In October 2014, after feeling the need to expand her knowledge further, Catherine completed the Vets Now Certificate of Veterinary Nursing in Emergency and Critical Care and passed with distinctions.
Catherine joined the University Veterinary Teaching Hospital of Sydney as an ECC nurse in December 2015 and after 18 months of night shift and emergency work, decided to settle back into normal day work at Potts Point Vet.
"Working as an emergency nurse at Sydney Uni allowed me to develop my skills further and gain valuable knowledge, but having always worked in general practice prior to this, you do miss the more personal side of general practice and being able to follow through with patients and see them come in as puppies and kittens and grow up with their families, so it's really nice to be able to have this again and get to meet all the wonderful pets at Potts Point Vet."
When she is not at work she enjoys baking, diving, exploring Sydney and its beautiful beaches with her husband and is on a never-ending quest to find the best coffee Australia has to offer.
