Seb Irwin

I was born and bred in the Hunter Valley among thoroughbred horses. I grew up on my own family stud called Riverslea Farm where we prepped mares, yearlings, and foals. Growing up on horse studs I was surrounded by animals: barn/farm cats and inside cats, work dogs and lap dogs, chickens, birds, and, of course, horses. We had lots of animals. Growing up within this environment is where I believe my love for animals started which is why in the future, I would love to put my love of animals towards studying Zoology/conservation.

Growing up with horses inevitably led to me adopting the sport of riding horses. I competed in many different disciplines ranging from sporting to eventing. I have competed at State levels, as well as doing national training clinics.  I have always loved horses and always will, and I plan on getting back into competing down the line.

During year 12, I started work at Baramul horse stud where I worked with mares and foals, as well as yearlings. Once graduating year 12 I ended up moving onto the stud to work full time as a somewhat gap year. While working at Baramul stud, I was able to travel to the Gold Coast as well as Adelaide for the Magic Millions yearling sales.

During March 2020, I travelled out to outback NSW to a town called Cobar where I was meant to just visit for 2 weeks. During those 2 weeks is when Australia went into our first lockdown, and I ended up being stuck there. During the lockdown I made the most of it and got a local job which ended up with me living in Cobar until November 2021 where I finally decided that I would like to start a new journey. That decision led to me moving into Sydney and after a month or so I started working at the practice here in Potts Point.
